AREA BUSINESSES WARM UP TO ENVIRONMENTALLY
FRIENDLY HEATERS

KENT, Wash. - For Puget Sound businesses, chilly winter months typically mean higher heating costs.   But at Carco - The Auto Superstore, a new auto dealer in renton, Cost-efficient, environmentally friendly technology is helping to turn back the cold and add up the savings.
The Carco auto dealership facility has recently installed a new Shenandoah 500,000 GTU boiler distributed by Northwest Industrial Equipment of Kent.  The unique boiler will cut operating costs at the facility by burning used motor oil, transmission and other petroleum based fluids to heat the hot water for radiant floor heat.  The pertroleum fluids will be collected from the periodic auto lube changes performed at the dealership.
"We are an ecological company that recycles used car and truck oil; this recycled oil is converted into fuel for our boiler," said Mike Scarff, president of Carco.  "This recycling process cuts our fuel costs to zero."
"Puget Sound businesses are becoming more environmentally conscious," said Howard Levens, CEO of Northwest Industrial Equipment.  "Used oil heaters and boilers provice these companies with an efficient way to recycle motor oil on site and cut operating costs."
According to Levens, the waste oil boilers are more cost-effective than the existing boilers that auto delaers previous used to heat their facilities.  The Shenandoah boiler installed at the site produces 140,000 BTU's of energy for every gallon of used oil burned, and generates up to 500,000 BTU's per hour, along with 13 gallons per minute of 100 degree rise water to wash cars.
"The boilers also meet on-site used oil recycling guidelines of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Puget Sound Air Pullution Control agency and the Department of Ecology," added Levens .
Northwest Industrial Equipment is the exclusive distributor of Shenandoah/Columbia heaters and boilers.  Contact Levens at (253) 872-6060 for more information.
